Ep. 145 Water Is Life :: The Ultimate Sacred Water Episode with Isabel Friend

This is an epic interview with Isabel Friend, International Water Advocate, public speaker, Reiki master, & teacher. Today we are talking all about Sacred Water. I was so excited when I came across Isabel's work, as Water has been showing up in my Akashic Record readings often, and one of the things that has very clear to me when I'm working with clients, particularly when I open up their Records around their health, is that there is an epidemic of dehydration... The topic of this episode is so critically important and relevant to every living being on this Earth that I really encourage you to sit in, even if you feel like you don't have an interest in water.

Quick disclaimer: Isabel is residing and calling in from beautiful Bali, and in Bali there is a plethora of roosters that love to sing so throughout the episode you're going to hear a lot of these beautiful rooster crows. Sometimes they can be quite loud so I encourage you to stick with it and stay for the entire interview because there is so much we cover!

We start off with looking at the best kinds of water to drink and filtration systems Isabel recommends, and the difference between wild living water and filtered water. Isabel shares her personal philosophy around water and why we need to begin to cultivate a different relationship and view of water as a whole well-rounded living being.

Isabel takes us on a magical journey of wild water... Do you know where your water comes from? Isabel is going to talk about that natural journey from the womb of Mother Earth rising to the surface and into your cells. We touch on the importance of drinking local wild water, how you can source wild water, the most important resource that Isabel wants you to know.

Beyond the health aspects of water and hydration, Isabel goes into the new biology of water looking at structured water, what that means, how do we get access to structured water, how do we create structured water, and why drinking unstructured bulk water is problematic for our health. We weave into the cosmic and esoteric aspects of water, and communion with water as a spiritual act that feeds our health on a very deep level. Isabel shares the origin stories that contain water from indigenous perspectives and the ways that humans have been communing with living water as a source of information, Divinity and tapping into the memory of the universe. So Yes - we talk about crystals, water scrying, hydromancy and working with water to tap into the answers of all of our greatest questions!

Of course, we also discuss the very real problems that we are seeing from our distorted relationship with the elements and with Mother Earth... Isabel talks about the political situation, privatization and accessibility issues around water, the water wars, and how we can step up as water guardians and embrace water activism in our daily lives.

I also share an Akashic Record reading on water that I channeled just before we hopped on the call for the interview -  it's so beautiful to see all of the parallels that have been woven in throughout our discussion.

*Special Discount for FYW Listeners!* Isabel is doing some amazing work and teachings around water, and she has many offerings including a special discount for listeners for a water e-course that I'm totally going to do and I want you to do it with me! Check out the links below to learn more about her e-course and how to access your special discount.

We'd love to hear your feedback and please share this episode out with your family and friends - one of the best things that we can do is share this information out so that more people awaken to the importance and critical matter that is Water and how we really need to show up for water with our full hearts and warriors spirits.

Show Notes

  • The magical journey of wild water, from the womb of Mother Earth rising to the surface thru vortexing movement that magnetizes and structures water

  • How water is medicine attuned specifically for the beings living in the same region from which it derives - we are the first beings that have been able to drink water from another place

  • Why it’s important to drink LOCAL wild water for our health and connecting to the entire cycle of life and how you can start sourcing wild water and the most important resource Isabel wants you to know

  • Why you want to revitalize water if you and how to structure water with magnetism, special frequencies, and more

  • Water is responding to the subtle movements of the cosmos and celestial bodies - one of the ways in which astronomical influences affect our bodies

  • The ability of water to imprint upon its surroundings is directly proportional to the strength of the matrix of hydrogen bonds in the water

  • How most of us are drinking unstructured “bulk water” - and why that’s problematic for our health

  • The updated biology of water, the newly discovered fourth phase of water as a crystal, aka exclusionary zone (EZ) water - and the incredible implications

  • How water is the medium thru which we interface between the physical and the etheric, the human and the divine

  • What you can do to support the water that you’re drinking through communion

  • The principle of quantum coherence - the ability of water to communicate faster than the speed of light over vast distances

  • The main things you want to consider: the structure of the water

  • How the molecules of water are like the alphabet and how water carries information of all the universe across all time

  • How to structure your water thru vortexing

  • What Isabel uses to vortex and structure her water: 1) a protein mixer bottle and 2) latte frother mini immersion blender; praying and singing to water when it is moving ideal time to expose to frequencies

  • How to keep our body’s water structured and why near infrared spectrum, red light therapy is good four our health as it relates to its impact on water

  • How to increase hydration and absorption thru structured water, why you want to drink water that’s been exposed to both north pole and a south pole

  • Using crystals in water bottles - how it works and what you need to know to make it work for you

  • Venessa shares her channeled message from the Akashic Records

  • How Isabel is planning on creating a mystery school around water

  • Water + Intuition: Hydromancy as divination through water, various indigenous cultures that divine with water, how Nostradamus received all the psychic readings by scrying into a bowl of water, how the Oracle at Delphi used spring waters

  • How water is the memory of the earth, the Akasha embodied beyond space time continuum holding memory of the future

  • How all origin stories have water as a central theme

  • A brief discussion on quantum principles of water - how chaos (without pattern) of etheric ocean is the primal source from which more patterned creation comes into being, mirroring quantum theories (i.e. dark matter, dark fluid theory)

  • The more we connect with water spiritually, the more we have direct connection to the answers of ALL of our questions

  • The political situation around water - privatization and accessibility, water wars, the need for water activism & water guardianship

  • Why we need to start thinking in terms of watersheds - get to know the watershed in which you live!

  • The steps toward water justice and water democracy: recognizing water is a commons, the rights of water need to be in the hands of people in an egalitarian way, not in the hand of giant water cartels that are privatizing and redistributing water

    • Activism practices, getting involved with local watershed association, go to city hall for meetings, not supporting capitalistic structures by not buying water from across the globe, see if town or county already has sold public water services to a private company - be vocal when that contract is up for renewal for prevention

    • We are at the legal and historical crux of this question and issue that will have implications for the future of life on earth

    • We need to be involved at a local level and a global level

  • Discussion on pipelines: How there are 97 other pipeline projects like North Dakota access pipeline with no media coverage, and why it’s important for you to pour yourself into protecting water, supporting indigenous people, and against the effort of colonialism to capitalize on water resources

Every one of us who is a body of us should be intimately involved in protecting water.” ~ Isabel Friend

Either you get a filter or you become a filter.” ~ Isabel Friend

It’s about shifting our relationship to the source of life and recognizing that the water we drink is the blood of Mother Earth. The water we drink is not the blood of our municipal plumbing system... the water we drink is not the blood of corporate bottling plants... The water we drink is the blood of Mother Earth and we are stewards of that blood stream. There is no difference between the water inside of us and the water outside of us.” ~ Isabel Friend

We are water protecting herself. We are water stewarding life.” ~ Isabel Friend

It’s up to every light worker and every activist to really step into the guardianship of water. Right now according to WHO 80% of disease is from lack of access to clean water... Denying poor ppl access to water by privatizing water and turning it into a capitalist commodity is an act of terrorism against life itself, and yet that’s what’s happening across the globe.” ~ Isabel Friend

Akashic Records on Water (channeled by Venessa Rodriguez):

Water is the ancient storyteller, the wisdom keeper that holds the ancient knowledge, the secrets, the threads that have been tucked away

Water is a energetic portal thru its crystalline structure

It is the earth’s veins, the element that connects the fabric of all life

It is the shape shifter, the transporter, the vessel, the medicine,

The cosmic messenger

The essence of everything

The ether made embodied

Akasha of the earth

I am the womb

The light

The breath

The blood

The flow of life depends on me

Feel my rivers thru your cavernous body

Carrier of whispers

No force can stop me

The truth of the cosmos

The key to your dna

The blueprint for the “new world” as you call it

The map of the world as it was

The medium for Love.

Ep. 142 Earth speak :: Liberation through Intuitive Connection & Earth Magic with Natalie Ross

I am really excited to have one of my personal favorite podcasters, we have Natalie Ross on the show today. Natalie used to be the podcast hostess of the Dream Freedom Beauty podcast and now has a podcast called Earth Speak as well as a beautiful Collective along with that podcast. Today she is telling us all about it and what Earth Speak means to her. We did a sweet podcast exchange so I will also be on her Earth Speak podcast as a guest - I'll be sure to share that out when it becomes available.

In this conversation, we talked about how the seeds of Earth Speak and her journey with her own intuition were planted and how Natalie came into relationship with her intuition, plus how Natalie's winding path with synchronicities has led her to her work today. We talked about the Earth as a conscious being, why practicing presence and cultivating Connection are paramount, and Natalie has a message to those who have a challenging time living in this earth body, offering ideas of practices and therapies to tend to the parts of you that are hurting.

We talked about engaging with the elements and Natalie reveals one message that the plants have shared with her about our energy bodies. Natalie shares how the plants are guides in our process of Liberation and why now is THE time to connect + speak with the Earth, the plants, and all of the living beings for our Collective well-being. You'll hear about how Natalie experiences Earth speak herself, practices that she uses to attune herself and her top non-negotiables for tending to her energy body.

Natalie also gives us a sneak peek behind the scenes of Earth Speak Collective and her shared vision for supporting others to connect with their intuition and one another and the earth. I know you're going to love Natalie, she has such a wonderful spirit.

We are living in re-evolutionary times and one of the ways we can support ourselves through this process and support others is to tend to our connection to the Earth our own bodies + connect with our intuition. I firmly believe that as we move forward and look to create a more beautiful and just world, we must do so from a heart-centered place and one that is connected in with our intuition and in reverence of the earth, ourselves, and one another. For those of you who have been on the front lines... for those of you who have been protesting... for those of you who are essential workers, especially... remember to rest, tend to your resilience, fill up your cup and continue to do your sacred work.

Ep. 141 {ENCORE} Farming While Black: Restoring Sacred & Just Relationship with the Land & One Another with Leah Penniman

The soil stewards of generations past recognized that healthy soil is not only imperative for our food security—it is also foundational for our cultural and emotional well-being.” ~ Leah Penniman

This week we are rebroadcasting our episode with Leah Penniman on Farming While Black: Restoring Sacred Relationship with the Land and One Another, synchronistically originally aired exactly one year ago in June of 2019.

This episode is especially timely as we collectively face a collective uprising against racism, a global pandemic and unprecedented challenges as well as opportunities for change and healing. As we reflected back in 2019, Leah offers so much wisdom rooted in the power of Mother Earth and ways we can begin to dismantle racism through social justice work and connecting back to nature.

In this episode, you'll experience Leah's pioneering energy that supports our collective re-memberance of our sacred connection to land and the ways we can begin healing the injustices of the imposed systems as a community.

Leah's work with Soul Fire Farm is to increase farmland stewardship by people of color, promote equity in food access, and train the next generation of activist farmers.

Her book Farming While Black, is the first comprehensive manual for African-heritage people ready to reclaim their rightful place of dignified agency in the food system, with a concise “how-to” for all aspects of small-scale farming. But it’s not just Is a compendium of “how-tos” for small scale farming... it’s rich with historical context and weaving in the pragmatic with spirituality, soil ecology, planning, tools, plant medicine, healing trauma, and movement building. Leah breaks it all down for us in this episode!

Show Notes

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How Leah found a comrade in nature and cultivated a relationship that led to farming as a teenager

  • As a young person worked on many farms and realized that the sustainable agriculture world was super “white” and how she didn’t feel represented

  • How Leah found a mentor in Karen Washington Rise & Root Farm

  • How the story we’ve been told about farming is inaccurate and incomplete

  • Leah breaks down the external barriers and the history of exile, discrimination, violence and denigration of black people and forced disconnection from land

  • The importance of the return of black and brown people to the land and the need to fix land injustice

  • What are reparations and how can people give back and redistribute access and resources

  • How 98% of land is owned by white people and there is a 16:1 wealth gap between white folks and black folks at birth, the history of dispossession

  • Soul Fire Farm’s Action guide based on voices of black and indigenous people of color

  • How Leah weaves in spirituality with science in her book and in real life

  • How farming has allowed Leah to unfold into her whole self at Soul Fire, and Leah’s mission of supporting others to be able to experience the same

  • How Leah has navigated parenthood and raising her 2 children at Soul Fire Farm

  • Leah’s favorite resources in addition to her book (which also contains tons of resources!)

  • Learn the ways to support Leah Penniman’s work and Soul Fire Farm

Ep. 138 {SOLO} My Intimate Journey of Finding My Voice: 3 Lessons in Activating Your Inner Voice

In this solo episode, I share my personal journey of finding my voice - the good, the bad, and the not so cute. This continual work of connecting to and honoring my inner voice has led to incredible healing, expansion of intuitive abilities, and has allowed me to connect to my soul’s Truth and purpose. I share this with you because I believe NOW is the time that YOUR voice is expressed and heard... I believe we are collectively being called to connect with our inner voices & guidance, to stand tall in our Truth and express it clearly with integrity, alignment, compassion, & strength for the good of All.

In times of death, rebirth, transformation, it is imperative that those voices that have been suppressed & silenced ~ the voices of Mother Earth, Divine Feminine energy, Love & Compassion, Diversity & Sovereignty ~ are uplifted, expressed and heard.

YOU carry medicine, and you have the power to connect to the deepest wellsprings of wisdom, I believe it is our divine right and nature. That’s why I created my upcoming live virtual workshop Feed Your Wild VOICE... If you’re interested in joining us May 22nd, click the link below to read more.

Ep. 136 How to Navigate the Pandemic as An Empath/HSP with Lola Pickett

This episode is for all of you who FEEL deeply, identify as empaths and highly sensitive people! Our guest Lola Pickett works primarily with empaths/HSPs in reclaiming their resilience and power through their sensitivities. We dive into what is a highly sensitive person and empath, and the difference between the two. Lola shares the most common patterns that show up for empaths/HSPs that hold them back from stepping into their full power - so many have shown up in my own life. We talk about how this pandemic can be a portal for those folks to step into their powers of sensitivity and why we need to “upgrade the program” and tap into our resiliency during this time.

Lola shares her own personal journey with this pandemic and the tool that she used to help herself work through overwhelming anxiety - partnering with her brain. We touch on the medicine Lola sees we are receiving through this process, Lola’s thoughts on navigating fear and how we can move with fear in a way that best serves us, plus helpful questions to ask yourself. Of course we share some practical ways we can support ourselves as highly sensitive during this pandemic, and how we can continue to do so as we move into the unknown.

Quotes

The less boxes I put around, and labels I put on, things... the freer I am.” ~ Lola Pickett

Ep. 133 Nurturing Radiant Health At Every Stage thru Everyday Plant Medicine with Dr. Leslie Korn

In light of the recent pandemic, it’s clear to me now more than ever that health sovereignty and empowerment requires radical connection to the natural world, plant medicine and ancestral wisdom ways, living in harmony with nature and Mother Earth. It also requires community support and collaboration. With threats of COVID-19 and of a mandatory vaccine and digital certificates, lack of access to life-saving treatments for so many, and reports that the pandemic seems to be hitting people of color & native populations the hardest - virus is disproportionately affecting Blacks, Latinx, and Native Americans (highlighting the systemic disparities already in place), we need to bring back medicine into the people’s hands as much as possible. Food and plants as medicine is obviously a primary part of this and a topic we’re passionate about on this podcast.

Today I’m releasing an interview I did with Dr. Leslie Korn, PhD. We recorded this interview a while back before the pandemic began (pre-Coronavirus), yet the topic discussion remains highly relevant: Nurturing Radiant Health At Every Stage with Everyday Plant Medicine...  What better week to release such an episode than this week in celebration of Earth day on April 22, which also happens to be a new moon in earthly Taurus. Of course we celebrate earth day every day on this podcast and Dr. Leslie’s new book, Natural Woman, can be an ally to put this into practice in our daily lives.

Dr. Leslie Korn served as a Fulbright scholar on traditional medicine, a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School, and a National Institutes of Health–funded research scientist in mind/body medicine. In 1975, she founded the Center for Traditional Medicine, a public health clinic in rural indigenous Mexico that she directed for over twenty-five years. Author of nine books, she teaches and consults internationally for mental health professionals and tribal communities.

Her latest book Natural Woman is an incredibly comprehensive DIY herbal medicine book: Dr. Leslie draws from several herbal traditions (the medico-spiritual traditions of Curanderismo (Mexico), Ayurveda, Sufiism, and Northwest plant/fungi use by Native American communities) to address numerous health conditions—acute and chronic—and includes descriptions of how to use herbal preparations for spiritual and ritual use.

This book is designed to serve as an herbal companion for you to consult time and again for trusted guidance that can be shared with family, friends.

In these modern times when we’re losing this custom and tradition of passing of information from elders, it is an invaluable resource especially in the context of this pandemic which highlights the critical importance of health sovereignty, restoring our sacred natural connection with Mama Earth.

In this interview and Dr. Leslie’s book, we explore the sacred connection between herbs and womxn in ALL their beautiful forms.

Show Notes

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Dr. Leslie Korn’s search for adventure, how she found herself in Mexico and being initiated into her healing path through illness, becoming her “own laboratory” and experiment of One

  • How the local women taught Dr. Leslie about regional and traditional medicine of Mexico

  • How Dr. Leslie created a local health center focused on traditional healing practices in Mexico

  • “Being on one’s own during which can be a serious acute illness taught me about not being afraid and not being fearful about dis-ease... and to use nature.” ~ Dr. Leslie

  • How Dr. Leslie began working as a traumatologist, merging energetic touch and psychotherapy

  • How touch is womxn’s intrinsic mode of communication

  • How Dr. Leslie works with people who do not feel comfortable being touched, and the power of animals for healing

  • How trauma disrupts our natural rhythms and how touch can provide a template for re-balancing

  • How licorice root is central to balancing our internal rhythms

  • Herbs have their own internal clocks regulated by light cycles and environment storing nourishment that furthers our own rhythms.

  • The different types of rhythms we have, including circadian and ultradian

  • The connection between breath, our brain and rhythms, and how we can naturally optimize our own rhythms for optimal health

  • Dr. Leslie shares about a variety of power plants such as chamomile, and jamaica as a wonderful source of antioxidants that regulates rhythms of our digestion

  • The importance of cross-cultural wisdom sharing and how this feeds into Dr. Leslie’s mission

  • Why rituals are so important for our health and livelihood

  • Rosemary’s protection powers and long historical connection with humans

  • The importance of connection and mentorship for learning - passing wisdom traditions through heart-based relationships

Ep. 131 German New Medicine :: Overcoming Fear of Illness + Harnessing the Power of Mind-Body Connection with Dr. Melissa Sell

Today we’re exploring the mind-body connection through the lens of German New Medicine (GNM). In this interview you’ll hear Dr. Melissa Sell explain what GNM is, the paradigm shifting work of Dr. Hamer, and how it’s changed her approach to health and healing.  Dr. Melissa breaks down the 5 Biological Laws that help you better understand yourself and the language that your body speaks. We talk about the psyche-brain-organ connection and various psychological “shocks” called Conflict Shocks that impact the expression of what is considered dis-ease in the body. Dr. Melissa shares how our body has wise biological programs that attempt to resolve conflicts and how this process is grossly misunderstood by conventional medicine.

We touch on the science of embryology and how specific tissue types are associated with specific psychological conflicts and biological manifestations.

Dr. Melissa shares some of her personal views on coronavirus, contagion and the proliferation of symptoms experienced en masse. We discuss the critical link between panic + fear and exacerbation of symptoms, the “nocebo effect,” and which biological programs might be linked with the symptoms of COVID-19. We also cover a couple of case studies through the lens of GNM: chronic sinus issues and chronic acne (something I’ve had a history with!).

This discussion contains a lot of technical elements as well as ideas that contradict those that are more widely accepted, so I invite you to listen in with an open mind and use your own perceptive ability to determine if this model makes sense to you.

Ayana also shares about her land restoration projects, including the "1 Million Redwoods" project, where she is working to preserve and propagate the biodiversity of the old growth Redwood forest.

QUOTES

We’ve been living on this earth as humans much longer than we’ve been living as industrialized humans.” ~ Ayana Young

We have to fall in love, and we have to be committed and devoted, so when we see those things being lost, the grief gets awakened (and maybe guilt and shame). We can move that into passion, action, devotion, commitment, focus... if we can do that with stillness, slowness, and real intention, that would be such a good recipe for how to be with what is happening right now.” ~ Ayana Young
